Ministry Spotlight |
 |
FGA member Carey
Kinsolving has launched a new ministry
initiative that may
be able to give FGA churches a strategic
advantage in reaching
their communities with the gospel of grace.
This initiative
builds on a ministry the Lord has already
blessed called
the Children’s
International Arts Festival (CIAF).
|
Nineteen dude ranch family vacations have already been
awarded to children who
answered questions and drew
art for the online “Kids Color Me Bible Gospel of John,”
which is available for
viewing and free downloading at
www.KidsTalkAboutGod.org.
After both Focus on the
Family children’s magazines wrote feature articles on
CIAF
dude ranch family vacation
winners in successive years, Kinsolving and his wife,
Lisa,
received a flood of
quality children’s art and writing.
Instead of focusing on
selecting child winners from publicity in national
magazines,
Kinsolving plans to offer
dude ranch vacations to children in selected cities or
media
markets. He has developed a
detailed marketing plan that he believes will generate
more
participation from children.
A 12-minute video explains how, on a small budget, an
FGA
church, business person or
professional can reach the children in a specific city.
To view
the video and read the
marketing plan, please visit
www.KidsTalkAboutGod.org/heaven.
The video features a couple of the TV news reports where
child winners received surprise
phone calls from Kinsolving and dude ranch owners.
Instead of surprise phone calls,
Kinsolving would like a local sponsor to be the face of
the festival when the surprise
announcement is made, hopefully with reporters standing
by to capture the excitement.
The
new theme for the online festivals is heaven. Children
can answer and illustrate up to
five heaven-related questions. One of the questions,
“How do you get to heaven?” will
feature the gospel. An online, heaven book will be built
for each group that sponsors a
festival for its city. The online, book technology was
chosen because of its viral nature.
It’s very easy to send to friends:
